Meeting Description
Join us for an exciting discussion about how we can support inclusion in local communities. We want to hear your ideas for partnering with citizens, faith communities, civic clubs, businesses, and others interested in making certain that people with disabilities can thrive in their communities with support.
The Engage Now Georgia! Project is designed to expand capacity to support employment and community life engagement in Georgia for people with developmental disabilities. This project is funded by Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). Partners include the University of Georgia, David Ralston Institute for Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Center on Human Development and Disability (UGA), the Institute for Community Inclusion at the University of Massachuttses Boston (ICI), and the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS).
As part of this initiative, facilitated townhall kickoff meetings across the six DBHDD regions will take place with local providers. These townhall kickoff meetings will frame the vision for Employment First and community access, gain system partner input on current challenges, and identify opportunities for improvement and training. Ultimately, the information collected during these meetings will be used to enhance employment and community access outcomes.
Important Information for Providers and Families
- Each venue will be capped at 100 participants
- Every attendee must be registered to attend.
- No more than 2 representatives from a single provider agency will be allowed.
- Please attend the session associated with your Region.
- Region Office staff must have permission from RSA to attend.
- Region Office staff do not need to register.
- Attending Central and Region Office staff will meet with NASDDDS facilitator during the afternoon session from 1:30-3:00pm.
